Quote of the day
Amazing.. Absolutely
>seiji

One day on the weekend in NYC

Waking up after hitting head on the wall 6AM

As I couldn't get back to bed anymore, made a full breakfast and decided to go to Museum of Natural History. 8AM

Realized that battery for camera is dead. 9AM

Leaving home with full battery 10AM

Getting on the wrong train -twice
Waiting for the train at the wrong station -twice
Loss -2 hours

Finally arrived at the museum 12:30PM

Very crowded with families and couples. Me myself...
Joining the queue to get ticket + joined in the Spanish tourists group... where am I???...

Then Well Finally Im in it!!

Woa thats a huge whale! yummy..
Firstly, I decided to go to the planetarium.

The Narrator was Mr. Robert Redford
Coool.
but.... to be honest, Planetarium in Tokyo has more and clearer stars....

After that, with avoiding stuffed dead animals (im scared of them), Finally I was in dinosaur section!!!

YEAAAA
This is sooo coool!!
Specially Triceratops!!

If I were to be displayed after I die, I want to be shown like this....

Then, I went to mythical creatures section.

saw dragons, unicorns, mermaid, giants, Big Foot, Tengu etc...
People were touching those... manner....

Then I had a short break/sleep in a video room about the revolution for an hour.

After that, I went out after spending about 2 hours in Astrology and Science Sections.

As I had bad luck with train in the morning, I decided to walk through the central park to the station where I can get on the train that goes straight to my place.

.....

......

it was very cold... (it was actually under 0 C....)

I was wearing only jeans, thin long t-short and leather jacket...

Anyway, the park in winter has great atmosphere. I like it.

As might have been expected, I was dying from coldness.
So I decided to run with them.

On the way, I saw a couple taking wedding picture in this bloody cold park!
I thought "How awful brave they are"

Oh well, by the time I got to the station, I had no energy.

I really enjoyed my day off.

Hypnosis

I had a dream.
I woke up in the middle of the night
everything i can recognize was gone.
Everything changed
I was alone.
no lights
darkness
but there was only one thing that hadnt changed.
I had to carry on my life
no matter what
I had to keep moving forward...

I had a dream like this....

Quote of the day
I finally got used to with the sound of alarm.
-Seiji

Perception.

I would like to hear your opinion. What do you see when you see the arts.

For me, the arts are the most unlimited way to express feelings, personalities and opinion towards the public. However, as everyone has a different sense of value, it is totaly up to each person how he/she perceive from it. And also from my experience, I beleive that perceptions
differ by where you are from as well, like people from Asia, Europe, NorthAmerica.. (but with effects of globalization, I think they are more mixed)
Therefore, I believe that it is the reason why some people call the art 'mirror of the world'

When I see arts, I always imagine what the artists were feeling and thinking when they are creating it with considering the historical background and environment at first (although my knowledge of history is extremely poor...). Then I compare it with what I feel/think from it now.
But this way sometimes confuse me a lot when I see abstract arts because I cannot imagine the artists feeling clearly. But at the same time these pieces impact me a lot and I love these.
I feel that it might be because of my lack of knowledge. I felt lost a bit.

Talking about Pop songs, I would not call it arts. I rather call it entertainment, and in my opinion, it can be the same as repetitive art techniques like portaits in the 18th century.

I think Im making at lot of contradictions as my perception is very unstable.
Please comment your view..

Thanks

Letter

Dear whom I don't know the name

Thank you very much for telling me your life story and your advice.
When I saw tears in your eyes, dont know why, I was crying a bit as well.
I probably didn't understand all of things you said, but I could feel it.
When you said you are tired of thinking and now stopped thinking trying to be stronger, I couldnt say anything although I tried to. It was something Ive never thought of, but it's been here and will be...

And please forgive me asking you such a question. I hope you were not insulted.
But you kindly answered the question. I could see tears in your eyes again.
You said "sometimes yes, sometimes no, but Im probably trying to protect myself more than that" You showed a lot of expressions on your face. I could tell that you have experienced more than I can imagine.

I am very glad that I chose to walk to Midtown after work and sitting the bench in Union Square randomly. It was very nice to see you.

We probably won't recognize each other when we walk pass by next time.
But I really wish your happiness.
And I don't know how my life will be but I will do my best in my life as you do in your life.

Best,

Seiji Nakano

Am I the only one around here paid more than £5 to download Radioheads' new album?
>Seiji

Good, Im blogging again.

Realizing and understanding the deep inside
Since I started working in the real world, I finally started understanding how the world works now. In fact, it was very disappointing to find out that there are a lot of issues in the countries more than I knew. And I am probably one of late ones to realize this. What happening to this world is getting bigger and bigger silently. and there is less realization of crisis.
And there are people who think the life I have is heaven even if I call it hell.
We all have different perceptions, and to some people, these differences look unfair.
And I dont think it will be fair ever. But mistake is that we tend to judge the others' life. and forcing the other to learn our sense of value. Sympathizing could be looking down upon them at the same time.
After all, the life might be just about self-satisfaction still. and we could be too busy thinking about ourselves.
But I realize there are more power to accomplish our missions when we do it for someone else. and I think thats what few people whoever we call as artists, philosophers and leaders have been trying to tell us since the beginning of all.

If I were to die tomorrow, I want to wish everyones' happiness as much as I can.
Then I won't regret my life...

He is really cool, he's got iPhone.
>Seiji

A lot happened since the last post.
but I feel that Im getting back something I lost ages ago.
Its great.

New York!!
Well, I am now in New York now (I said now twice.)
Its a great city and somehow, I feel very comfortable to be in this town.
Something relaxes me alot. probably coz its quite similar to Tokyo...? I dont know.

so here is a list of what I found out here so far (as usual)

  • transportation is great (subway 24/7)
  • Food is great
  • no much sign of Harry Potter
  • a lot of ads of TV programs which I never gonna watch
  • steams coming up from the manhole... (I was a bit worried, reminds me Batman Begins if you know what I mean)
  • 80% less rain than Liverpool.
  • no much pubs...
  • nice museums art galleries
  • fake experience of visiting Statue of Liberty and Times Square
  • Starbucks on each block.
  • Cheesecake is great
  • and Mexican is Great
  • Little Italy reminds me so much of Godfather
  • Difficulty to find a right shop to buy things
  • Bank of America looks good
  • Sadness that I dont have much
  • Great Apple Store always packed
  • found very hard to call crisps chips.
  • I still dont understand tip culture. Ive run away three times without paying tip. Well, service was Crap anyway
Overall, its a great city except checking your wallet.

Quote of the day
I dont know Kung Fu
-Seiji

two more essay then I go back to japan for summer.

CO2

Polar ocean 'soaking up less CO2' reports BBC.

Well, I think this CO2 issue has to to be notified differently to the public.
Although, this issue can affect our future, not many people are not taking it seriously (they think its in another world)

So I made a list to attract? people (as usual)

  1. change O2 phone to CO2 phone and design it horribly
  2. O2/CO2 meter everywhere in town
  3. New Law: 13.2 CO2 has to be mentioned at least twice a day, otherwise punishment
  4. John Lennon should sing about this.
  5. No car, No CO2
  6. No O2, No life
  7. make O2, not war commercial
  8. put some colour on CO2 then you can tell which one is CO2 everyday
I hope this would work well.

How to protect your precious pen

As I have mentioned about 5 years ago.
I lost quite a lot of pens.

So I decided to make a list of what to do to protect pens

  • buy pencil case
  • write name on it
  • attach your mobile phone, then you can call when you lose it
  • Norton Penternet security
  • pay £20 for the insurance per pen
  • a pen is stronger than a sword
  • use computer then you never buy pen to protect
  • Finger pen
  • Pen?
  • Size?
  • Blue
  • always keep eye on it
  • pen could be your only friend
  • talk to them instead
  • he can understand you
  • they will follow you if they like you.
  • Otherwise you lose them
anyway, I lost my pencil case

Horse + Police SWOT analysis (thnx yoko)

In England, the police still use horse for transpotation.
Student Nakano (2007) says "It mismatchs" he also says "hard out"

So Student Nakano (2007) did SWOT analysis

Strengh

-higher view
-faster than walking
-four legs
-clop crop crap
-Looks cool
-Man < Man + Horse

Weakness
-takes time to get on
-pooh after they walk pass by
-stiff neck when you talk to them
-Slow, specially when they are on the public place
-mismatch to the city
-Brown
-Police
-Gives public a animal fear
-fear to the animal allergy

Opportunity
-More time to hock girls (e.g. A hot girl: hey, what a cute horse. Police: oh yeah? you wanna go for a ride then?)

Threads
-Smell
-Yellow jacket
-might smash your nuts
-danger getting killed by your "partner"
-Cool gaze from public
